Easy 3-Ingredient Vegan Chocolate Frosting

Friends, here is the recipe for my vegan chocolate frosting that I know you will be loving as we get into the holidays and Thanksgiving season here in the US! You know I am all about taking those typically less healthy recipes and making them just as delicious, but with a healthy spin that takes them to the next level.

This recipe is one of my favorites for frosting those delicious treats we all love around this time of year. It also works as a chocolate mousse, to top a toast or muffin, or even as a layer in your yogurt bowl or chia pudding.

What makes this Vegan Chocolate Frosting healthy?

Frosting is typically composed of a fat and a sweetener, sometimes with a splash of liquid to make it a great consistency. In this vegan chocolate frosting recipe our fat is none other than avocados! You know my love for avocados as a versatile ingredient… and here they’re the superhero of our vegan chocolate frosting.

Maple syrup is a natural sweetener and acts as the “sweet” component. You can customize the sweetness to your own preferences. And as our chocolate component we’re using raw cacao powder. Now cacao powder (you can substitute cocoa powder which is its roasted cousin!) has a bitterness on its own, but it has that chocolate flavor we all associate with sweet treats. It also has heaps of antioxidants which help in overall immunity!

The COLOR CODE for this recipe is … green! Yes, even though our chocolate frosting itself ends up a nutty brown color, we are using a base of avocados. Green foods are usually immune boosting and loaded with potassium, magnesium, vitamins, and are great for immunity and bone health. Avocados are also a great source of natural healthy fats.

What makes this Vegan Chocolate Frosting easy?

You can make the entire vegan chocolate frosting recipe in a mixer or by hand with a whisk. I love my Robot Coupe for this recipe, and it’s how we make many of our spreads and sauces at Charley St!

But with just 3 ingredients (one totally optional!) this recipe could not be easier. Hope you make and love it just as much as I do. Be sure to show me your healthy creations over on IG! Tag me @dan_churchill and show me how you use your vegan chocolate frosting in an epic way!
