Immune Boosting Dairy-Free Golden Milk

Immunity-boosting Dairy-Free Golden Milk

You all may have heard the buzz… and if you haven’t yet, I’m about to rock your world with the most anti-inflammatory, immune boosting healthy golden milk! You could definitely consider this a latte (and maybe even add a shot of espresso if you’re having it in the morning!) But what’s amazing about this dairy-free turmeric latte is that it has such an abundance of immune benefitting properties. Let me give you the breakdown…but first, can we check out this color!?

Why is this dairy-free turmeric latte good for you?

We’re all about that beautiful turmeric powder in this one, and just like other yellow foods that offer benefits for gut health, great digestion, and an immune system boost, turmeric is no exception! It is also incredible at removing inflammation in the body. So many diseases and illnesses are simply a manifestation of inflammation, so turmeric is a rescue ingredient! We’re also adding ginger into this one (another incredible anti-inflammatory ingredient) and coconut oil (which also improves absorption of all those fat-soluble vitamins!)

This colorful spice comes from a fresh root that slightly resembles ginger, but is darker yellow/orange in color. You can usually find it in any supermarket in fresh form, and nearly always in powdered form! It’s incredibly versatile, and a great staple spice to have in the kitchen.

But what makes turmeric extra powerful in this latte is that we combine it with black pepper, which increases the absorption of turmeric in the body — essentially making it more bio-available! It’s one great example of how foods we eat in combination can bring us even greater benefits (the whole is greater than the sum of its parts!)

This time of year, seasons are changing and we are getting into summer. You might be looking to bump up your immune system, or change up your usual coffee or tea routine. This golden milk is the perfect healthy option 🙂

Why is this dairy-free turmeric latte easy to make?

Friends, this is one of the easiest recipes I’ve made recently! I am so in love with adding turmeric to almost anything I’m making — from sweet recipes like this one (or your morning bowl of oats), to savory recipes like a stew or curry. Turmeric is incredibly versatile and pairs beautifully with other spices like cinnamon, cayenne, curry, and cumin. And always add in that sprinkle of black pepper for absorption! It has an almost spicy, very warming kick that will perk up your immune system in the best way.

This recipe contains just a few simple ingredients, and most of them are spices you may already have on hand… read on to see just how easy this one is friends, and be sure to share your creations with me on Instagram if you do!
