How is Healthy?
This recipe contains a number of key healthy ingredients. The spices alone offer a lot of antioxidants to fight off those free radicals bouncing around that can cause cancer. Spices are also fantastic for your immune system. The coconut oil is rich in Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) which improve the update of T3 a hormone. If you are interested increasing your metabolism T3 is your friend. They are the ones responsible for increasing it along with regulating your energy levels and HR. So when the old school train of thought that having fat was bad, coconut oil clearly proves that myth wrong.
How is it Easy?
This is one of those put in a pot stir and pour into a bowl. So if you are a little slow in the morning or coming back from the gym in a hurry this Healthy Habit Oatmeal Breakfast Recipe is not only easy but super quick.
So this is the first recipe of your 2018 Healthy Habit routine. To be sure to get more free recipes and health tips, click here and enter your details, it also comes with a FREE Ebook 🙂
Recipe: Vanilla Chai Tahini Oatmeal
Prep Time: N/A
Cook Time: 5 Minutes
Cost: $2-3
Skill: Easy
Ingredients: (Serves 1 or half portion for someone hungry)
1/2 Cup Oats
1 tsp Coconut oil (optional)
1/2 tsp Cloves, ground
1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp Cardamon, ground
Pinch of salt
2 Tsp Tahini
2 tsp Honey
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tsp Chia seeds
1/4 Cup Almond milk
1 Tbsp Raspberry Healthy Jam
Note: You can purchase a chai spice mix, meaning you don’t have to add cloves, cinnamon or cardamon individually. Alternatively you can get a glass jar and make the mix your self. It obviously stores like other spices.
Method:
- Combine oats with 1/2 a cup of water in a pot on medium heat, cover and bring to a boil before stirring until all water is absorbed
- Fold in your coconut oil cloves, cinnamon, cardamon, salt and chia seeds along with your almond milk. After stirring for a minute drizzle in half your tahini and honey along with you vanilla
- Pour the creamy mixture into a bowl and top with the remaining honey, tahini, jam, and those crunchy spice pecans.. enjoy!
