How to Poach a Pear
One of the requests I was asked on Instagram (@dan_churchill) was how to poach a pear, so whilst showing you how you can create something tasty and colorful, I wanted you to come away with a new skill to add to your cooking arsenal. This recipe was created on a burner down by a beach, (you can see that below). So if I can do it there you can cook it in your own home with ease my friends. WATCH THE RECIPE VIDEO BELOW

Whats great is you can swap the pear for another fruit, the yoghurt contains 2 ingredients and with the simplicity of honey, this recipe is that easy to create. You have the gorgeous fruit, the texture of the almonds, the creaminess of the yoghurt and then topped with that natural honey sweetness this is a winner.

Recipe: Turmeric Poached Pears & Vanilla Bean Yoghur
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Skill: Easy as
2 Pears, peeled
4 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Turmeric
1 Lemon, cut in half
1/2 Cup Natural Yoghurt
2 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
1/4 Cup Almonds crushed
1/2 Cup Strawberries, halved
- First thing to do is create your poaching liquid, do this by combining your turmeric, cloves and 3 Tbsp of honey in a small pot of boiling water.
- Pop the pears into the poaching liquid along with the lemon squeezed, cover with a lid and turn to low heat. Allow them to poach for 10-15 minutes or until they are easily pierced with a knife
- Combine the Yoghurt with the Vanilla Bean Paste and set aside
- To serve spread your yoghurt over the base of a board or plate, stop with the pears, strawberries and almonds before drizzling with honey… Happy Days
